Chica is the first puppy we've kept in almost 5 years due to our desire to keep our numbers in the house manageable and give everyone their fair share of attention. Chica has been a great success, finishing her first titles easily (earned her CKC and then AKC Senior Hunter in straight tests in early 2008) as well as completing her CD easily at the GRCC National Specialty with nice scores (and little training). Chica finished her Can Master title in fall 2009 and needs only one leg in AKC for Master, so we hope to see her competing in Qual in 2010.
Chica is an excellent marker with strong, balanced talents in field and is a very strong team player with Joanne on blinds (going to line is another story admittedly). Chica is also a very nice conformation dog, more refined and stylish, with an excellent blend of head, neck, topline and balance. She won her Can Bred class at the GRCC National Specialty (July 2009) and was pulled for consideration in Winners Bitch as well, so we plan to get her out for Canadian championship after puppies next year. Judge's Critique: Gloria Kerr USA - "This bitch has beautiful shoulders, is nicely balanced and carries herself very well while moving. Her coat is somewhat lacking but of good quality." And then she went on to win Best Gundog over 6 Canadian Champions, so 2009 has been a very good year.
Chica has demonstrated the stellar temperament and the conformation pluses we were looking for from this long planned breeding, combining some of the best field and show lines with our solid foundation of working ability, health and temperament. 
Joanne is working with sire Lad's co-owner Colleen McPoland to bring out Chica's exciting talents to the fullest, and very much appreciates their hours of effort and advice. And it runs in the family, as her sister "Wyn", owned by Vida Ross has already finished her Master in 2009.
