Photo by Wendy MacDonald, shown running test dog for fun in a Senior Hunter test at Pacific Rim. Scramble is our first true field x show cross. We were very pleased to have this chance to bring a stronger dose of field pedigrees back into our lines. We also wanted to have another red dog as we had been innundated with blondes for a while. Scamble is the 4th generation of our breeding; out of Kali, who we bred and originally coowned with friends Paula and Larry Bernard. Her grandchildren are now out in their homes and we look forward to seeing her contribution to our breeding program down through the generations.

Her sire is the well known field trial dog, FTCH AFTCH Cedarpond's RV. Scramble is a daily pleasure to train, focused, intense, calm and intelligent. She earned one UKC Finished leg with trainer and co-owner (at that time) Anne Cobley and is extremely talented in MH work, learning complex concepts with ease. Scramble was retired from Hunt tests due to some holes we could not overcome from early in her training, however, at 9 she started training for fun with Joanne and Chica, and wow, she is better than ever in Master. So Joanne has been training her with friends Colleen McPoland and Mark Accola and Scramble is just a blast. She is still hard charging, soaring into the water on her water blinds, is a terrific marker (better than ever in fact) Her excess of confidence in herself comes out sometimes in tests but she finished her Canadian Master title at her first weekend out at Easter with Joanne handling 10 years young!) and may spend some time on UD or tracking, since she seems unwilling to retire.

While retired to the whelping box, Scramble earned her Canadian CD and CDX (thank you Lynne Dowling) with 3 passes in a row and scores of 194, 191 and finally 196. Scramble's exemplary attitude and temperament were demonstrated by her total relaxation at ringside on day two of the obedience trial, as she lay on her back playing with her stuffy while awaiting her turn in the ring. When its time to work, up she goes and turns on a 196 performance. Way to go! Her daughter Aimy now has produced another generation of gorgeous, working puppies with happy temperaments and we look forward to watching them compete.

Scramble has also earned a conformation Match Group 3 as a puppy and is a good size bitch, 23 inches tall with an excellent front and neck and a substantial body. She has dropped incisors but a good bite, and no missing teeth. Her topline is good with slightly higher tail carriage, although not curled up. Of course she has her Hip, elbow, heart and eye clearances. We are very pleased with not only the working ability of her three litters, but also the conformation qualities. Scramble produced a repeat breeding of her 2006 litter in spring 2007 and is now retired from breeding but we may try for a UD if time permits after her MH title is completed..

Thank you, Colleen, Mark and Lynne for training and competing with Scramble. We really appreciate it.
