See below for more information & click on names to link to dogs' own page
Summer 2010 - Zaniri's Cheeky Monkey Can CD Can Am MH WCX. Chica is an excellent marker, very much a team player on blinds (not so much going to line admittedly), good in water or land and is especially appreciated for her on/off switch, making her very easy to live with. She is a more compact bitch than sister Wyn, very correctly structured and with a pleasing head and expression. Joanne will compete in Qual in the spring before breeding her in summer 2010 to Trip - Talin's Heart Act To Follow MH WC *** who has an outstanding working pedigree. His sire Ted is an OTCH, MH, Agility Dog Hall of Fame, etc. Trip won first place in an Amateur Field Trial summer 2009 and is being shown in the AKC Conformation ring between trial seasons. He is an absolutely precision marker, calm and really comes into his own on the water. We strongly suggest early reservations. Click for puppy pedigree.
Fall 2010 - Aimy will be bred in early fall. Her first litter is doing extremely well in hunt test training and very good looking.
Winter 2010 - Emma will be bred to Lad Can *** MH Am MH Click for Puppy Pedigree, an outstanding combination of field and conformation lines, along with the best possible temperaments and trainability. Limited Competion Reservations available.
Wyn MH will be bred for puppies around Christmas 2010, likely to a top show dog. Wyn x Sniper 2009 puppy: Trek, owned by Gail Kulinski in Wisconsin
Laureen & Joanne Kinney & Our Breeding Program:
We have been competing across Canada and occasionally in the U.S. since 1978. Although our current priority is Hunt tests, we enjoy conformation, obedience and tracking and are heavily involved with club activities.
Our breeding program started in the 1980's, with the aim of breeding healthy, trainable, good looking hunting retrievers. We started with old dual purpose lines, noted for their hip soundness and have gone on from there. We still have only a few dogs, who live in our house as companions and we are dedicated to producing dogs which have the natural instincts and adaptability to be easy to live with and train for novice as well as experienced owners.
We put a lot of effort into raising puppies with the maximum exposure to physical and mental stimulation throughout their development to provide the best possible start as stable, intelligent and trainable companions. The puppies box is in the entryway to kitchen for maximum exposure to family life, their large exercise yard is filled with trees, stumps, jungle gym type equipment and noisemakers and they go for regular hikes through the woods and explore ditches and brush areas with gusto. We also make sure we do a series of bird, scenting and obedience type exposures and assessments as the pups mature to provide us with the kind of information needed to match puppies with owners and develop their genetic potential to the maximum before they leave home.
We normally breed one or two litters per year, and both parents/pedigree are very carefully researched for health, temperament, working ability, trainability, sound structure and correct Golden Retriever breed type. We do additional research on pedigrees to try and avoid genetic problems as a long and happy life for puppies we produce is our first priority. Written contract and warrantee provided. Affiliations: Golden Retriever Club of B.C. (25 years), Golden Retriever Club of Canada, Golden Retriever Club of America & Canadian Kennel Club.
In our breeding program we go back and forth between show and field lines to maintain the best of both worlds. Some first generation field cross litters may be best suited for hunt test and performance homes, while other litters are more show oriented with talent for hunting and obedience although we have minimum standards for both comformation and field ability so all of our litters produce good looking and talented hunting companions. We have several dogs in working Search and Rescue and other specialized homes as well, as our pups have excellent tracking skills and the work ethic is transferable to many areas. Many of our litters have produced multiple dogs capable of earning owner handled Canadian Championships and advanced hunt test titles. We often place our puppies with dedicated novices and hunters but early reservations are suggested. And to make sure that we do not overcommit for performance puppies, we normally reserve a few homes for companion puppies.
