Fall 2008: Tess (HR Zaniri's Mistress of Maplebear Can WCX SH TD CGC Am WCX) has been bred to the outstanding Boomer (FC AFC FTCH AFTCH Can. OTCH TNT's Explosion Am. UD, FDHF, OS Cdn FDHF, OBHF). Puppies are expected around September 12 and ready to go to news home at the end of October. Tess produced a lovely litter of extremely good looking and birdy puppies in 2006 with Dual Ch Push. She is a substantial yet still femine bitch, with a typey head, great expression and very nice structure. She is an excellent working dog and has the talent for Master Hunter if time permits training and we hope to show her in conformation when she gets her coat back after puppies. Boomer needs no introduction as the producer of many hard working good looking retrievers over the years. He is 12 years old and still breeding naturally as well. Boomer sired Lad***MH, Piper MH legs for us previously and in particular produced excellent water dogs. We look forward to an equally talented litter from Tess. Click here for Puppy Pedigree.

Early 2009 - Chica (our Lad daughter) and her sister Win are both running in Master Hunt tests, and we expect Chica to start running in Qualified All Age stakes this summer as well. We plan to breed her in the fall/winter of 2008 to a show dog.

Summer 2008 (June 26 - Competition Male Available to special home): Aimy - Zaniri's Ready Aim Fire Can SH CDX WCX AM JH will be bred to U-CD Am CH Deauxquest Hard Day's Knight UDT RE JH WC VCX. Fisher has accomplished a lot at a young age because of his temperament and work ethic, he not only learns very quickly but WANTS to do what you've taught him. He takes to anything with ease and is very fun to work with. People who get his puppies should be able to do anything with them. Fisher has an impressive head, excellent pigmentation, a pretty dark eye and a solid topline and a moderate coat, along with very efficient side gait. In earning his American Championship, he won Winners Dog at Everglades Golden Retriever Club, WD under respected breeder-judge Nancy Talbot and has OTCH points to top it off . Aimy has also got a very strong work ethic, outstanding marking ability and tons of drive in the field. She is a fast, responsive worker who we hope will go on to Master after puppies, as well as continue with obedience and other titles. Aimy has excellent structure and front, with a good topline and both dogs have hip (both OFA Excellent), elbow, eye, heart and thyroid clearances. Note Fisher comes from a litter of seven which all have their hip/elbow/eye clearances. These puppies will have an outstanding show and working pedigree and people who get them should be able to compete in any venue. Laureen & Joanne Kinney & Our Breeding Program:

We have been competing across Canada and occasionally in the U.S. since 1978. Although our current priority is Hunt tests, we enjoy conformation, obedience and tracking and are heavily involved with club activities.

Our breeding program started in the 1980's, with the aim of breeding healthy, trainable, good looking hunting retrievers. We started with old dual purpose lines, noted for their hip soundness and have gone on from there. We still have only a few dogs, who live in our house as companions and we are dedicated to producing dogs which have the natural instincts and adaptability to be easy to live with and train for novice as well as experienced owners.

We put a lot of effort into raising puppies with the maximum exposure to physical and mental stimulation throughout their development to provide the best possible start as stable, intelligent and trainable companions. The puppies box is in the entryway to kitchen for maximum exposure to family life, their large exercise yard is filled with trees, stumps, jungle gym type equipment and noisemakers and they go for regular hikes through the woods and explore ditches and brush areas with gusto. We also make sure we do a series of bird, scenting and obedience type exposures and assessments as the pups mature to provide us with the kind of information needed to match puppies with owners and develop their genetic potential to the maximum before they leave home.

We normally breed one or two litters per year, and both parents/pedigree are very carefully researched for health, temperament, working ability, trainability, sound structure and correct Golden Retriever breed type. We do additional research on pedigrees to try and avoid genetic problems as a long and happy life for puppies we produce is our first priority. Written contract and warrantee provided. Affiliations: Golden Retriever Club of B.C. (25 years), Golden Retriever Club of Canada, Golden Retriever Club of America & Canadian Kennel Club.

In our breeding program we go back and forth between show and field lines to maintain the best of both worlds. Some first generation field cross litters may be best suited for hunt test and performance homes, while other litters are more show oriented with talent for hunting and obedience although we have minimum standards for both comformation and field ability so all of our litters produce good looking and talented hunting companions. We have several dogs in working Search and Rescue and other specialized homes as well, as our pups have excellent tracking skills and the work ethic is transferable to many areas. Many of our litters have produced a majority of dogs capable of earning owner handled Canadian Championships and advanced hunt test titles. We often place our puppies with dedicated novices and hunters but early reservations are suggested.
